Turn Your Automation Into Funded Training
Up to $35,000 in ATIP grants to train your team on new automation — Newbloom AI handles the work.
You bought (or are buying) new automation. Minnesota's Automation Training Incentive Program (ATIP) can reimburse the cost of training your existing workers to run it. Newbloom AI screens your fit, builds the application, delivers the training, and assembles the reimbursement paperwork — so you get the capability and the funding without the administrative burden.
What the Grant Is
ATIP is a State of Minnesota grant program, administered by DEED, that helps small Greater Minnesota manufacturers train incumbent workers on newly adopted automation technology. Eligible projects can receive grants of $10,000 to $35,000 — up to $5,000 per trainee — to offset training costs.
It is designed for exactly the moment you are in: you have invested in a robot, CNC, machine vision, packaging line, PLC/HMI, or new production software — and now your team needs to operate, interpret, maintain, and get the most out of it.
- Grants of $10,000–$35,000 per eligible project
- Up to $5,000 per trainee, minimum two trainees
- Reimburses training costs — not the equipment
- For existing employees (upskilling), not new hires
- Covers software, data, and technical skills training
- Rolling and reimbursement-based — first-come, first-served, subject to funding
- Pairs with your real automation investment
What Newbloom AI Handles
- 1Fit & eligibility screen — We confirm you qualify and pre-check whether ATIP or MJSP is the better path.
- 2Grant application support — We draft the narrative, build the training-cost budget, and support submission. You remain the applicant.
- 3Customized training delivery — Hands-on training on your automation plus the software, data, and dashboard skills ATIP funds.
- 4Reimbursement & reporting — We assemble attendance, confirmation, expense, and outcome documentation, including the one-year retention report.
ATIP is reimbursement-based, and awards are made first-come, first-served as long as funding remains — which is the argument for starting early rather than waiting for a round to open. Newbloom AI is a training and application-support partner — not a guarantor of award. Final eligibility, scoring, and funding decisions are made solely by DEED.
